About Us
Hi, I’m Heather!
I’m married to my amazing husband, Chad!
We are excited to announce that we are expecting our first child through adoption. We are absolutely thrilled and cannot wait to bring our little one home. When we started our journey to adopt, Chad and I wanted to share our story. This blog is a way for us to include our family and friends in our journey to adopt.
Our Story
We were both born and raised in Louisiana. I was born in Metairie and Chad in Baton Rouge. We met through friends and knew early on that we had found something special in each other. We dated in two different cities for a year before I decided to call Baton Rouge home again. In October 2012, Chad proposed. We were so excited that 7 months later we were married in our parish church in Baton Rouge. We had a beautiful ceremony and felt so loved and supported by our family and friends. We have been married for 1 ½ years, and we continue to grow closer every day.
Our desire to adopt!
We have known since early on in our relationship that we wanted to share our love with our children. After getting married, Chad and I immediately started trying to have a baby. After trying for 9 months, on April 11, we finally found out we were pregnant!! We were so excited, but unfortunately, at 7 weeks we had a miscarriage. We were both so devastated, but it reinforced our desire to become parents. We began praying that God would lead us down the right path and help us decide what the right step would be for us. Time and time again we were led to adoption and feel like now is the right time. We are incredibly joyful about the chance to grow our family in this way and already have so much love for our future child!

Matthew 18:5
“And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me.”
Romans 8:14-16
“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spiriit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.”
